Amo l'Italia!

Maggie loves Italian food!  This time we chose a place that is a bit exclusive in that there is only one and it is in Waxahachie, TX.  If you are looking for wood fired Pizza and gourmet dishes, Tuscan Slice will not dissapoint.  We went on a Friday night and the restaurant was very crowded with families, couples, and friends.   Despite the crowd, the atmosphere was pleasant and the service excellent!

After being promptly seated (even on a crowded Friday night), Maggie requested chocolate milk and was pleased that it was made there in the kitchen and not poured from a container.

Maggie really seemed to enjoy the warm chewy garlic flat bread that was served as an appetizer. She had four pieces!

The kid's menus were entertaining and easy to decipher.  Maggie was able to place her own order (at least to her mom, anyway).  She went with her standard dish at any italian bistro (and safe to her, since this was the first visit)- good 'ol Spaghetti.  She had her choise of pasta sauces and chose marina.

Although she said it was good and that it tasted great, Maggie ended up eating more of her brother's pizza than the pasta she ordered.  The pizza's are made to order at Tuscan Slice and the fired in their wood burning pizza oven.  The pizza of choice at our table was cheese only.

The kid's menu was priced competitvely, even though we were dining in a gourmet italian bistro.  (Oh yeah, drink and ice cream are included!)  Tuscan Slice definately lived up to it's reputation!

When it was time for dessert, Maggie chose vanilla ice cream and was very impressed! She definately wants to make a return trip and says she can't wait to tell her friends about Tuscan Slice!

p.s.  While preparing this week's post, I was not able to find the spaghetti dish that Maggie enjoyed so much on the kid's menu, but I assure you, it is on there!  I have included the link anyway.
